Taco (Brawley Nolte) is a young American living in London trying to come to terms with his brother Scott’s (Sean Brosnan) death. As he drifts through the night time city he allows his memories of the past to pervade his imagination and considers the effect of his loss on his life and relationships.
His father, Lowell (Nick Nolte), is both physically and emotionally distant and Taco’s attempt to communicate with him sees both men isolated in their grief and unable to offer any real comfort to each other. Similarly Taco’s affair with Zoë (Margo Stilley) serves to demonstrate the futility of human relationships.
As Taco journeys through the night and through his grief and as he does so, the lines between the living and the dead, between past and future become blurred as the story reaches towards its dreadful, yet ultimately cathartic climax.
My Horizon was shot on location in London, Dungeness and Malibu over a startlingly short amount of time with a miniscule budget on Super 16mm film. The film is expected to play strongly at major festivals and garner a considerable amount of media attention due, in no small part, to its extraordinary cast and high production values.
